Ofalis operates a team of ecologists and hands on landscape management specialists with extensive expertise in habitat management, creation of mitigation habitat, ecological and environmental enhancement.

 

We have licensed specialists who can capture and handle a diverse range of fauna for translocation to prepared areas.  Our team has successfully translocated natterjack toads, reptiles, herpitiles and flora.

 

We work for housing developers the petrochemicals industry and industrial developers to facilitate their construction activities.

 

We have developed many new habitats and currently manage several of these to ensure ongoing success.  Some of the high profile schemes that we manage include:

 

• Wintering bird habitat at the Dee Estuary

• Natterjack Toad habitat at Talacre Dunes

• Slow worm habitat several port facilities

• Reptile hibernaculae at several sites including country parks

• Bat habitat at industrial and domestic sites

• Water vole habitat at petrochemical facility

• Otter habitat at commercial site

• SSSI’s at commercial and farming sites

 

Some of our projects provide unique ecological enhancement and have been the subject of special features in the media including specific BBC Radio and TV programmes.

Dune Management

 

Ofalis manages dune complex habitats to protect them and to improve their stability.

 

Our team is adept at management of visitor pressures on dune systems and in the planning and implementation of dune protection systems. Our team is often involved in the development of visitor information boards, information posters and wardening of public open space dune systems.
